The company revealed the introduction of Tap to Pay on iPhone for Cash App Business merchants, enabling them to accept contactless payments through their iPhones via the Cash App iOS app, even from users who don’t have the app, on July 15.
Owen Jennings remarked that “Tap to Pay on iPhone opens up sellers to businesses outside the CashApp community, to the growing share of customers who use contactless debit or credit cards or a mobile wallet.” He released this statement as the head of business at Block, the parent company of Cash App.
“It’s a powerful way to ensure micro and nano sellers never miss a sale. We’re meeting them where they are — distributing Square’s industry-leading tools to a new generation of smaller, next-gen sellers, natively within Cash App.”
The release further emphasized that the Cash.App Business customers’ number one request for feature enhancements was Tap to Pay on iPhone. Business customers who participated in early beta testing reported a 35 percent increase in purchase requests from their customers compared to merchants who did not offer the service.
“The release added as the industry standard for Tap to Pay on iPhones is growing, Cash App is providing this functionality within its ecosystem.”
