Monetize Your YouTube Channel With Just 500 Subscribers

Date:

To facilitate content creators, YouTube has introduced a new policy that allows channels with just 500 subscribers and 3,000 watch hours to monetize their content and start earning immediately. Monetizing a YouTube channel is a coveted achievement for creators as it offers them recognition and compensation for their efforts. We have exciting news if you’re a content creator with aspirations of monetizing your channel.

Recently, YouTube updated its monetization guidelines to make it more open to a larger spectrum of artists. Under the updated guidelines, any channel with at least 500 subscribers, three public videos published within 90 days, and 3,000 hours of views can enable monetization and begin generating income promptly.

Furthermore, creators who wish to monetize their YouTube shorts can also take advantage of this policy by meeting the same subscriber threshold, with the only difference being the requirement of accumulating over 3 million views within a 90-day timeframe.

Previously, the monetization criteria were much more stringent, mandating content creators to have a minimum of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours or achieve over 10 million views in 90 days for shorts. These requirements posed significant challenges for smaller creators, making it harder for them to qualify for monetization.

It would help to remember that several countries, like the US, UK, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea, are governed by these updated monetization laws. However, YouTube plans to apply similar low standards to other nations eventually.

In addition to the streamlined monetization process, YouTube creators now have the opportunity to promote their merchandise through YouTube Shopping. This dedicated e-commerce platform allows creators to establish stores and sell products directly to their audience.

The revised policy by YouTube represents a positive step forward, offering a more accessible path to monetization for content creators. With reduced subscriber and watch hour thresholds, aspiring creators can now have greater financial opportunities and unlock the potential of their YouTube channels.
